CHARITY REPORT
Fiscal Year 2007/08

Big Bike Weekend, a California nonprofit 501(c)(4) organization is pleased to report that in our first year as a nonprofit and through the Big Bike Weekend Community Fund, we were able to award $9,099 to qualified nonprofit organizations and to support programs in our community.

$1,500 (from the 2006 event) to the Alyssa Araiza Wings of Angels organization, a local grassroots nonprofit. The specific purpose is helping families with seriously ill children who are required to travel for treatment. A family must live within the Shasta, Siskiyou, Trinity, Lassen and Modoc county area and have a child with pediatric cancer or a life-threatening illness diagnosis and must travel 150 miles for treatment. Preference of aid is given to families who have a child with pediatric cancer and to families of single-parent households. Preference is also given to families with limited government assistance.

$1,000 to Newspaper in Education

$472 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association

$127 to Shasta County Special Olympics

$200 to the American Legion Riders for their fundraising to assist with purchase of items needed at the Veterans Home

$400 to the Shasta Co. Peace Officers Association

BBW also established the Big Bike Weekend Community Fund at the Shasta Regional Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This fund was established to provide grants to qualified charitable organizations and agencies who serve our community. In fiscal year 2007/08 grants were made to the following organizations:

$1,000 to the Historic Highway 99 Fund to assist with the installation of Highway 99 markers along the stretch of State Route 273 between Anderson and North Market Street in Redding.

$1,000 to the Alyssa Araiza Wings of Angels organization

$3,000 to Leadership Redding Alumni Association. The Leadership Redding alumni work to improve the quality of life in the Greater Redding Region through civic and community involvement.

$400 to the Bella Vista Volunteer Fire Department

Additionally, BBW partnered with Redding H.O.G. for their chili cook off. 100% of the $5 chili tasting donation benefitted Shasta County Special Olympics and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The majority of our printing needs were serviced through the Shasta County Opportunity Center. The Shasta County Opportunity Center is an employment training program for people with disabilities in Shasta County.

BBW looks forward to continued and expanded support to organizations and agencies who have done so much to enhance our community.
